Summertime Baby.

This was a weekend of many firsts for our young son...

- First time to swim in a kiddie pool and a real pool
- First taste of rice cereal (mixed in with his formula)
- First time to visit a lake and watch the boats go by

We spent as much time as we could outdoors - and luckily, the weather was perfect. Clear skies and warm temperatures. Perfect for a little one's first venture into the water.

We started with the kiddie pool - purchased at Wal-Mart for only $10.00. Cailean wasn't sure what to make of the cool water (his bath water is nice and warm in comparison), so he cried within minutes. A bottle was there to soothe him, and I ended up sitting in the pool, holding him, as he finished it off.

Our venture into my aunt's pool was much more successful. We sat the little guy in his big floating goldfish, and he was pretty content. That is, until hunger stepped in. And, once again, there I was - feeding my baby in the pool with his bottle.

And speaking of bottles, that's another thing that changed this weekend. We added some rice cereal to Cailean's formula, so he got a taste of something new! A strange new taste, but one that he is growing to love.

These were wonderful memories for our little family. Each day just gets better and better! Our next adventure? A family trip to Florida so Little C can get a glimpse of the ocean for the first time. What fun that will be :)
