Juggling.

Sometimes life can get a bit overwhelming.

Today was a record sales day for African Grey Designs, which meant long hours in my office glued to the computer. I learned from a customer that Etsy had featured one of my Pug prints on their Facebook page, a big honor that usually results in a sales spike. Don't get me wrong - I am definitely happy my business is bursting at the seams - but being a young mom and an Etsy seller can be a bit trying at times. My 20-month-old son was not so thrilled that Mommy kept checking her sales and sending Etsy convos. After all, it was playtime for goodness sake.

So I spent the day racing around like a mad woman during his two short naps, trying my best to get everything finished before I heard his soft little coos from the crib. Add a restless YorkiPoo to the mix, and it was pure chaos!

Now that I have finally plopped down to blog, my achy feet burrowing into the carpet, I finally have a quiet moment to reflect on the day. It was busy. It was frustrating. It was even a bit stressful. But I can't imagine taking a piece of my hectic life out of the mix. I love being a wife and mom (to both a human baby and a doggie baby!), but being an artist is also something that gives my life an incredible purpose. I don't want to give that up, even if it keeps me up late.

So I've decided I will continue to juggle. Come rain or shine.
