Purr.

We recently adopted a stray cat which has lovingly been named "Miss Kitty."

She's about as ordinary as they come - black with a tiny hint of white fur under her chin. Yellowy eyes and little pink claws. She meows and sunbathes and eats cat food by the handful. She disappears and returns, making her home in the little space under our deck.

But as she integrates more and more into our little family, I've realized she's far from being just an ordinary stray cat. She's sweet, loves to rub against the palm of your hand, and is wonderful with kids. My son "pets" her - sometimes a bit roughly - and she takes it with grace and love. There's never a scratch or hiss.

Miss Kitty, our latest addition, is officially part of the family.

Purr-fection.
